             - coffee &   bacon sandwich,   9 holes, lunch, 18 holes then evening meal.

 

 

Players can all so attend for Lunch, play 18 holes and the evening meal.

 

 

You don’t need to have an official Golf Handicap, a Society Golf Handicap will be provided

2024 Venues

 

Event 1-  Thursday 14th March            Styrrup Hall, Doncaster           10:30            £40.00   

Styrrup Hall Golf and Country Club is set in 150 acres of beautifully landscaped  grounds is close to the boundary of South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. The course is challenging and well-presented having matured substantially since its opening in 2000. Event 2-  Friday 12th April            Scalm Park, Selby              9:32 & 13:00              £45.00   

An 18 hole well-kept flat course suitable for all ages and abilities set in beautiful mature parkland with some testing holes. Event 3 -  Friday 10th May           Tadcaster                           9:36 & 13:28               £55.00            

Tadcaster Golf Club offers an enjoyable easy-walking 18-hole course set in tranquil rural surroundings that has become well established since its opening in 1990. Event 4 -  Monday 3rd June        Bentham                 9:20 & 13:12               £60.00               

Bentham is a picturesque, family-run 18 hole Golf course situated in the Three Peaks area of North Yorkshire and offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Situated in the foothills of The Three Peaks, the views of Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside are stunning on a clear day, with a beautiful backdrop of the Lake District Fells. Event 5 -  Sun 30th June & Mon 1st July       Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club        13:40 & 11:10    £179.00  

Overnight trip to Ramside Hall. Dinner, Bed & Breakfast + 2 rounds. Based on 2 sharing a room. 

Ramside Hall is North East England’s most exciting risk and reward golf resort and home to two championship layouts; The Prince Bishops Course offers a very adventurous round of golf with 16 water hazards, reachable par-5’s, drivable par-4’s, and longer par-4’s that require 2 good straight hits to give you any chance of making par. The Cathedral Course offers a tough test, playing 7,176 yards off the back tees. The rolling countryside is a big part of the course, with awkward stances easy to find if you are not focused on the task at hand. The views across the course are extensive, reaching as far as the Angel of the North. The Cathedral course is ranked among the best golf courses in Durham.

Event 6 -  Tuesday 23rd June             Marsden Park, Nelson             9:30 & 13:00               £37.00    

Marsden Park Golf Course was first opened in 1968 and was then redeveloped in 1976. It is now offers eighteen unique with fantastic panoramic views of the extensive surrounding countryside deep in the foothills of Pendle. This course is a tale of two halves, the front nine has numerous strategically placed streams and ditches; while the back nine is more undulating and requires you to hit straight. 5,989 Yards, Par 70   Marsden Park Golf Course, Townhouse Road, Nelson, BB9 8DG  (www.marsdenparkgc.com)

 

Event 7-  Wednesday 14th August         Crow Nest Park, Brighouse            9:30 & 13:00      £55.00   

Established in 1995 the course was created on 70 acres of grounds once owned by the industrialist Sir Titus Salt. The nine hole course set in beautiful parkland has been recognised by a number of bodies, with the "Golf World" magazine labeling Crow Nest in 2010 as one of the worlds top nine hole golf courses. Event 8 -  Wednesday 11th September     Shipley Beckfoot              9:30 & 13:00    £69.00   

Shipley Golf Club was founded in 1896 and relocated to its current location with a Course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1921. An attractive easy walking course tucked away in a beautiful quiet and mature wooded valley at Beckfoot just outside Bingley has long been known as one of the best in the area and is a regular venue for both Bradford Union and Yorkshire Union County fixtures. 6,620 Yards, Par 71 Shipley Golf Club, Beckfoot Lane, Bingley, BD16 1LX (www.shipleygolf.co.uk)

 

Event 9 -  Friday 4th October               Branshaw, Keighley                10:28              £45.00    

Branshaw is a unique design by James Braid and Dr Alister Mackenzie, famous for designing Gleneagles and Augusta National. The course  set out over moorland is comparatively easy walking, offering superb views over the surrounding countryside. Smart casual wear is acceptable at all events unless otherwise notified. £35 Deposit is required for the overnight trip, and notification of intent to attend for all the others. Please note, most events will be subsidised from the price shown for members of the Golf Society. Annual Membership of the Society is £15. No subsidy is available for Guests. Guests can join the Society after their first visit.

 

At each event there will be an additional charge of £1 towards a 2’s pot. This will be shared between any players who score a 2 in the 18 hole competition event. If there is no 2 scored, the pot will roll over to the next event.
